My 2008 Corolla LE brake light is on but no brake problems

My 2008 Corolla LE has the brake light on. The fluid was a little low so I topped it off - the pads look good, the fluid is now full, the emergency brake is fully off, and the brakes are working fine...any idea why the light is staying on?

Usually when it is on, it is due to either low brake fluid, e-brake is not full disengaged, or abs pump or circuit is faulty.

Have a 2001 camly le v6 the cruise control dont work it wont light up warning brake light stays on brakes seam to be in good condition any ideas?

Hello. Welcoem to FIxYa. Please allow us to assist you.

If the Brake warning light is illuminated on your instrument cluster, the cruise control is prevented from being set. This is normal.

The most common reason for the Brake light to be illuminated is low brake fluid in the brake master cylinder. As the brakes wear, the fluid in the master cylinder drops proportionally to make up for the wear on the brakes.

We sould suggest that you check the fluid level in the master cylinder. If it is low, top it off with a new can of brake fluid. Don't use brake fluid that has been opened, use new. Brake fluid that has been sitting in a can will draw moisture, and this moisture, when you put it into your master cylinder, may cause your steel brake parts (that touch the fluid) to rust.

If the fluid level is OK, you may have another issue; one that a trained professional needs to look at.

Thanks for choosing FIxYa for assistance. If you have any questions, please feel free to get back to me.

My brake light did not warn me that i needed brakes

someone probably topped off your brake fluid when your brakes were low. the only way i know is to have new front and back brakes then make sure the brake fluid level is right . the light only comes on if your brake fluid goes low so the system has too much fluid if it says full and your brakes are not new front and back

My 1996 LE toyota corolla has a very low fuel mileage. Like it runs just 300km on 45 liters of fuel. This is a very bad mileage for 1.8L engine. Otherwise, car start, idles and runs fine. The spark plugs...

Check each wheel to determine if you have a brake dragging. If you raise a wheel off the ground, you will hear a little brake drag, but the wheel should turn pretty freely. If you find a wheel(s) that are difficult to turn, you know you need to service your brake calipers.

Location of the emergency rear brake switch n a

Hello. I assume that you want to know the location of the switch that activates the brake light on the dash when the park brake lever is pulled. It is under the rear of the park brake handle; you need to remove the console to see it.

However...if your brake light in your dash is staying ON, I would first suggest that you look at the level of brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir. If it is low, the light will come on, also. The fluid level in the master cylinder drops proportionally as the brake wear. I would bet that your fluid is low; about an ounce of fluid decrease will light up the brake light.

Brake light on dash is on. What does it mean?

This Light Indicates 1 of 2 things, 1. Is the BRAKE FLUID Level is LOW, Or 2. That the Parking BRAKE is Applied. Check Fluid and Top Off If Needed, There is A LINE that Shows The PROPER Level.
