Re: How do I reset the service enging soon light. It
You can unhook your battery for about 20-30 minutes to let the computer dump its memory, and it'll dump the codes as well. If it comes back, then you still have a problem....different o2 sensor, or vacuum leak.

Error Code: P0154 Description:
Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 1 , Bank 2 - No Activity Detected Problem areas:
- Wiring.
- Open circuit in signal wire, between Heated Oxygen sensor 1, Bank 2 and ECM. (Must check and confirm)
- Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).
- Engine control module (ECM).
These codes, po 138 bank 1 sensor 2 shorted to voltage and code po158 means bank 2 sensor two shorted to voltage. these are the two rear oxygen sensors in the exhaust system. there two up frt and two in the rear, check the wiring on the two rear sensors, make sure that the wiring is not cut or stuck between metal. if the wiring is good then replace both rear sensors, when you get them ask for the left and right after the cat sensors. or bk1 s2 and bk2s2. after replacing them reset the computer. go to an auto parts sotre or if you have a code reader you can do it. hope this helps good day.
Doesn't completely sound like a fuel pump problem...sounds like a vacuum line problem .... check your pcv ...and vacuum lines and when was your fuel filter last changed and how many miles are on the car...your fuel pressure regulator solenoid needs to be dry on the vacuum side too...diaphram could be leaking but if you can't find an obvious problem I would definiately find a qualified mechanic to dive into it...do you have access to a scan tool to read the trouble codes?
There are two O2 sensors. One in the Y pipe where it connects to the exhaust pipe and the second one is in the exhaust pipe between the catalytic converter and the muffler. There a hundred things that will cause the service engine soon light to come on. A problem with the O2 sensor is just one of them.
remove the negative cable @ battery for 30 seconds to see if it clears the check engine light ,if it doesnt it will need to be cleared with a scanner-warning your factory radio will loose the function code when you remove the battery cable, make sure you have the code otherwise your radio will not work
have the code erased and reset the computer by disconecting the battery. if the code returns then replace the sensor again w a dealer replacement part if not done so already. many times aftermarket sensors or cheaper sensors that are supposed to be for all vehicles dont remedy the problem.
