HAve a 2003 Chry. Town & Country, 124K. The Speedo and Tach have wrapped around the dial and stuck under the stop post. They will not reset even after unhooking the battery. Checked fuses and all seem fine. HAve not been able to check the code. Tranny also stumbles when coasting and, when gauges worked, they read 30 mph and 1000 rpm. Other gauges all appear to work normal.

Try output sensor for the transmission (it is similar to a vehicle speed sensor), these can control the speedo and shifting. Not sure if it does anything to the rpm guage, but very possible.

Changing out thermostat in Chry. 2001 Town and

Buy a thermostat, a thermostat gasket, and some blue sealant (RTV) from any auto parts store. On the driver side of the engine, there is a radiator hose that connects to the engine just under the wires for the spark plugs. There are two bolts. Remove the bolts and pull off the hose. Some coolant will leak. Remove the old thermostat and gasket. Note how the thermostat is oriented so you can replace the same way. Put the gasket and thermostat back using some of the sealant and then re install the bolts. Total cost is around 15-20 dollars. Feel good that you saved a few hundred bucks and only takes about 20-30 minutes.

97 town and country LXI mini van speedometer and tach not working

the cluster needs to be calibrated to the pcm before the speedo and tach will work. You will have to take it to the dealer to have it done. The last time I had to do it, it cost me 70 dollars.
