MY 4x4 on my excursion is stuck and does not want to come off how do i get it to come of and back to 2w drive?

Without the ability to diagnose the problem further, obvious things need to be eliminated. First step, with engine running and foot on brake, shift transmission to neutral. Then slowly turn Four Wheel Drive (4WD) selector knob out of 4WD Low to 4WD High, and then finally to 2 Wheel Drive. "4x4" and "LOW RANGE" indicator lights on the instrument panel should no longer be illuminated. If this does not work, you should visit FixYa for further help or take it to the shop for proper diagnosis. Hopefully, this will help you to FixYa problem!

Vortec 4wd 2dr auto trans stalls while drive

you might want to look at your O2 sensors, they can cause the motor to run lean or rich. also you might have an electrical issue that is tripping your ECM. your electronic control module might be faulty. best solution is to get a trouble code reader and find out what your on board computer has stored. from there you can repair and clear the codes.

2002 mecury villager stalls at low speeds or on acceleration from a stop. Replaced speed sensor and this was not the issue, but diagnostic code says that it still is. Must turn car off and start it again...

First- Codes do not tell you what to fix. You already found that out.
Second-Logically,why would a speed sensor on a trans cause a stall. The speed sensors and there are several.produce outputs on shaft and drum speeds in the trans. Those signals are part of the PCM input strategy for shift points. At low speed, your not shifting, your stalling.
There is no such thing as baffled. Lacks your vehicles system knowledge, maybe!
Do you have a clean fuel filter?
Do you have fuel pressure during the stall?
Do you have fairly new spark plugs?
What does the data for the Throttle Position Sensor,Mass Air Flow Sensor,Egr Valve Etc look like before the stall.
Got vacuum leaks?

Now --you either need to leave the vehicle at a shop, until they repair it
-Find a good tech at another shop that knows your vehicle
Or get the manuals and start on a life long persuit of auto technolgy. I like the last one.

I have a 2002 ford excursion 4x4 v10 it starts but when you put in gear it dies what could it be.

ck trans fluid level. if its low, it could cause this. or the IAC (idle air control) valve is faulty.

My Excursion stopped several times on freeway

If your Excursion has the 7.3L Diesel, what I first suspect is the Ford recalled item Cam Position Sensor (CMP sensor). If your nearby Ford dealership has not replaced it for free for you, then make an appointment and take the car in to have the sensor replaced. If this does not solve your stalling problem, come back to FixYa and I will assist you further.

Speedometer

This is a sensor setup. The sensor is mounted inside the transfer case (if its a 4X4). If it 2 wheel drive, than its at the back of the trans by the outputshaft. Its a 2 wire sensor in both cases. Easy to remove. Take out holding screw and remove sensor. But you probably need a new speedo head. Have seen some break and have replaced few. More than speed sensor it self. Good luck.
