  1. Turn off the ignition
  2. Press and hold the button on the left side of the display while turning the ignition on
  3. Service OIL will be displayed
  4. Pull out the button on the right side of the display until the service prompt is cleared
  5. The display should now read ---
  6. If the above procedure does not work, outlined below is an alternative procedure:
  7. With the ignition off, push the right button
  8. Turn the ignition on and then pull the left button
  9. This should clear the warning message --- I have a 2002 A4 Quattro. To reset that Service message, hold down the service button. That's the one with the picture of a wrench on it. While holding it down, turn on the ignition. Let go of the service button and press the "Mode" button just to the right of the service button. It should clear the display.
* This does not work in older models, like my Audi A4 /1.6, 1995. It needs the cable and the program ( e.g. VAG-COM). Even with this, clearing the code (IN1 or IN2) is quite complicated.

On my '99, this is the procedure:

Put the key in the ignition. Press and hold the left reset "stick" on the cluster, then turn the key to full electrical power. Pull out on the right "stick" and the display will turn to all dashes like this: ---- Turn the key off, then release the left stick, and restart the car and it should be reset.

Oil pressure light went on on my 2000 audi a4 1,8t. What should i do?

could be sender or pump. do not run the engine until you're sure you have a good pump. Does it blink on and off--coming on mainly at idle? This would be normal for an old engine. If it stays on and the pump is bad, you will ruin your engine. You can try replacing the sending uniot, as that is cheap compared to the pump, but don't run it long to check new sender. If new sender stays red, shut down and replace pump.

I just purchased a 2004 Audi A6 with 2.7 turbo engine with 65000 miles. . The oil guage shows in the low range. {150) The warning light is not on. Is this normal? or could this be a future problem?

Oil is cheaper than metal.Turbo motors run a lot hotter than non-turbo motors and need more frequent oil changes.1st thing to do would be get the oil changed with a good quality oil and also do the filter.Hope this helps
