My 1998 Buick Park Avenue all of the sudden would not shift from Reverse into Park. Then, when I trade the range of gears it would go into, it wouldn't go past 1st into 2nd or 3rd (it is an automatic). I let it sit overnight due to frustration, and then the next morning, the battery was almost dead and all of the electronics re-set themselves - even the keychain remote to unlock the car doesn't work. I jumped the battery, and it regained power, but all of the shifting / electronic issues persisted. Any ideas?
My friends car started doing the same thing tonight won't go from reverse to park he has a 97 mercury grand marquis
