02 dodge dakota 4.7 v8 starts then dies when cold out side. after trying two or three time it wont even turn over and its only when it cold once it warms up it starts just fine and runs fine.

Maybe I can help. I had a Chrysler Lebarron V8 that quit on me randomly and it turned out to be the coil resistor on the firewall. I started carrying a spare since it happened so often.
Sounds very much like catalytic is fouled, blocked.. Works fine when cold, then bogs down and even stalls when heats up. May start and idle but wont go when you press gas.
Did this come on worse over a couple three days? I would get the cat checked for flow.
this code is for bank 2 sensor 1 only. You need to inspect the wiring harness. Chances are it was damaged when the trans was worked on. Check both sides for the same signals, Both 02 sensors before the cat. If there not the same on voltage then thats where the problem is.
You should have 12v on on of the heater wire and a ground on the other with the key on.. The wires for the heater should be the same color ones. Or you can go to mitchell1diy and for ten bucks get the diagnostic procedures and wiring diagrams.
have seen a coolant temp sensor or throttle position sensor cause this..if you get scanned and watch these sensors while starting..coolant temp sensor may be setting a code or reading much colder temp than actual..i hope this helps
yes it can but you may have a coolant temp sensor acting up which causes the computer to open the injectors to much which can also cause this 02 sensor code. when it stalls do u have spark and fuel pressure.
i had it tested and it is good
