Try what Wyatt says ..put key in ignition . turn to on position for about 15 min. Turn ignition to off (not lock). then turn on and start. This will override the theft ignition system , and maybe allow the system to reset itself. let the car run for about 10 min
The key resistor that you installed only bypasses the key and ignition aspects of the security system. The theft deterrent module is still active and is most likely your prpoblem. This link explains.
The most common problem is the wires that come from the ignition lock cylinder to give the system the resistance value of the key are broke. To fix this you will need a new lock cylinder, a new key with the same resistance value of your old key. There is not any programming required.
Hi. You most likely have a ignition lock cylinder wiring problem. To repair you need to replace the ignition lock cylinder, a new key with the correct resistor. Hope this will help
you will need to replace the vats lock cylinder and key. the wires break at the ignition switch. the new cylinder will come with a dummy key . you will need to get a new vats key cut to that blank. take yor old key or vin# to the dealership so they wil know what your vats# is.
Read your manual or take it to the dealer. It sounds like it needs reset.....if this is a factory anti theft system, only the installer may be able to help you.
