Just had car dealership repair 1997 lincoln town car rear air suspension. replaced compressor (seized) and rear right solenoid switch (faulty) Car air suspension ''bleeds'' out overnight and rear end sits on ground practically! Takes ten minutes to refill and level out. Never did this before the mechanic touched it...what did he do wrong?
Those Lincolns are notorious for that,I'd just get a set of coil springs out of a Crown Victoria cop car(junk yard)and swap them out.Done it many times, you can do it in about an hour, and they'll never leak down again.By the way, there's some O-rings in that system.Make some soapy water and spray every connection, just maybe you'll get lucky.
Possible hose leaking or seal on rear air bag on switch
I would check the right rear solenoid switch, theres a leak somewhere. But check the air bags, there famous for leaks. Siezed compressors are caused by leaks, because the compressor runs so long to air up the leaking air bags.
I don't know if he did anything wrong. He may have missed something. It sound like there is either a pinched air line or maybe a small hole in an air-line and or one of the air-bags.
Well what did he do wrong is offensive to me and most other mechanics bud.... your car is almost 11 years old do you think that nothing will be corroded or rusted.......you have a leak somewhere obviously.....take it back to him and let him find it for you and a word of advice....before you **** on him let him find the problem it JUST MAY NOT BE HIS FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be as offended as you might pal but heres how the world works...we all get evaluated in our job performance not just mechanics and I certainly don't have a car dealership to hide in when I F*&%$#CK something up. Actually I did take the car back to the Ford Dealership and after 5 hours (waiting around town) the mechanic informs me that he "didn't want to do a leak test because he didn't know how" and "he couldn't do anything more". My car is sitting in his bay with the rear end scraping the cement as we are discussing this. So after dumping $1350.00 dollars for not solving the problem, I took it to another Ford Dealership and it was diagnosed that the previous mechanic pinched an o-ring on the new solenoid he supposedly installed and it was still leaking. So i ended up being safe and just replaced both the air bags and new solenoids with the competent shop mechanic. My point is I don't mind spending the money to fix a car but I don't accept incompetence nor would you or anyone else.
Tnsiouxfalls IS there certan year model Crown Vic I would need to get the springs from? I have
