2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD, left side low and high beams out, new bulbs, fuses good. No power at the sockets. Could this be the high/low switch on the column?

It shouldn't be the high/low beam switch, as that switches the high/low beam relays. One high beam relay supplies power for both sides, one for low beam, both sides. If you were to lose switch function or a relay, you would lose the high beams or the low beams, but not for just one side. It would be interesting to probe the fuses with a test light and see if you're getting power to and through them. If you are, the problem would be between the fuse box and the headlight, if your not getting power to the left head light fuses, the problem will be in the fuse box. Good luck!

check the multi function switch.where the wires go into the switch may be melted.the low beam feed wire is probably melted off.try tilting the steering wheel.you may find they come on at a curtain spot.this is a common problem.happened on my 2000 chevy truck.

My 2002 gmc Sierra's low beams will not work but my drl high beams and fogs work fine....

check your headlamp switch.is your switch on the dash or part of the turn signal switch.gm have a thing with plastic switches and metal contacts these switchs have a tendency to melt..also check for grounds.was the vehicle in a accident involving the front end.if you changed your headlamps to 80/100 watts bulbs.the circuit breaker may not work hence the switch melts.

Low beams don't work; High beams fine. Not the

the high beam switch is at fault
A new one is needed
The directional lever you pull up on to switch to high and low connects to a rod which is going to the high beam switch at the mid section of the steering coluum. It is a headache to change for your on your head replacing this part

Low Beam headlights don't work. High Beam work fine and diriving lights work as well.

hi from uk provided you have checked bulbs are ok? then this fault may be the relay for the low /dipped beam has gone faulty if you check h/book you may find location of low beam relay there is relay for high and one for low beams if you find both relays ? try switching? this will confirm relay fault if you then have low beam but no high ? b4 you buy new relay other than tis the other possible fault may be the actual di/high beam stick control ?

What would cause both low beam headlights to go out at the same time? i have replaced the headlights and they still dont work.

The headlight high/low beam switch assembly.96 Safari has the turn signal stem as the high/low beam switch.Removal of the steering wheel is necessary to get to the switch assembly for replacement.
