Jan 17, 2023 - The main fuse box is located in the glove compartment. You will see two white latches (left and right) that need to be turned to open the fuse ...
the trunk will not open because the rear deck lid is not latched.if you have someone push down on the rear lid the micro switch contact will close and then the trunk should be able to be opened
Unlatch the top on the inside and push it back a little. Then get out the car and lift the rear of the top where it meets the compartment lid. Open the roof storage compartment lid, the latch is inside the car behind the drivers seat. Fold the top into the compartment and close the lid. Make sure it latches. If you have further queries, please leave a comment.
The system is designed so that with the trunk open it will not open the roof. If the trunk is fully closed and the trunk light is still on, then find the switch in the boot which operates the light. If you disconnect any wires you could disable the boot completely. Including security.
That red light means the trunk is open or ajar. Check the trunk, if it is closed for sure and the light is still on, it probably has a bad switch in the latch and will need to be repaired.
One or both support struts may be defective. Disconnect them both from the trunk lid and lay the ends down into the trunk. You will need to support the trunk lid while doing this and the lid will be quite heavier. Now close the lid to latch. Did it latch first attempt? Check for the dash message. If all appears well, replace both struts.
Do you need to change a bulb or are you changing to custom lamps. If it is bulb replacement open trunk/boot (depending where you live ) the access for the tail lamps is at the rear corners of the trunk, If you are changing lamp lenses or assembly remove the screws( same location ) at lamp corners
The problem is that your roof(SOFT TOP) lid isnt closing properly. If you open the roof lid you see there is a button on one of the latches that tells the car that the roof is securely closed if your roof lid is not secure the trunk wont open. To test this press down on the roof lid and the try to open the trunk.
