Have the car's computer scanned. When the check light comes on, it sets a code that won't clear until it's actively reset. Post that code or codes here and we can help you.

2009gmc oil smells of gsaoline

a certain amount of gasoline will get into the oil over time, and will probably smell worse if you don't service it at regular intervals, give it a service and assuming it isn't leaking oil it should be ok unless the bores and rings are worn

How many miles do i need to drive before my buick lesabre reset itself

Unfortunately it is not a certain amount of time or miles that the car needs to be driven.

There are several 'readiness monitors' that basically cover each emissions related system. For instance there is an EVAP monitor that checks the EVAP system and all of it's components under certain specific conditions (No VSS, TPS, O2 sensor, IAT, MAP, Fuel trim, Injector ciruit, EGR pintle position, ECT, or MAF sensor DTC codes set; Start up engine temp 40F-86F; gas tank between 15% and 85% full, Barometer above 75 kPa, system voltage 8V-16V).

So more information is needed as to what failed you the first time. What DTC code was triggered?

If the problem has been fixed right, the history codes will go away after 40 CONSECUTIVE drive cycles WITHOUT the problem re-occurring.

Good Luck.

I have a DPF light that despite following the Suzuki guideliness to drive at certain speed for a certain amount of time, this light has not cleared. I have already had a sensor in the exhaust replaced that...

A diesel particulate filter (DPF) collects particulates in the engine's exhaust, basically unburned fuel. Every so often the DPF will need to regenerate. What this means is when a certain amount of particulates accumulate in the DPF, a small amount of raw fuel is injected into the DPF to increase the temperature. The increased heat burns the particulates resulting in fewer nasty things going into the atmosphere. However, the regeneration process leaves a small amount of ash in the DPF which accumulates over time. You may have to have the DPF professionally cleaned (it's not a DIY thing) in order to restore its performance.

2004 chevy trailblazer, 65,000 miles....check ingine light on... when I press the gas pedal it bogs down... also, yesterday the car stayed idel at 40 mph without my foot on the gas pedal

Could be many things. I know this is not much of an answer but you need to have scan done to get the "Trouble code" which will most likly give you your answer or at least point you in the right durection. I hope this helped and good luck. Oh and by the way alot of auto parts storres will run the scan for you for free.

1999 lincoln town car a computer says evaporative emission system leak detedcted a sm leak .. what does this mean

After a certain amount of drive cycles at certain temps & lots of other perameters, the vehicle does a self test to see if the fuel system holds vacuum for a period of time. Depending on how long it holds the vacuum determines if it is ok or leaking fast or slow. Usually it is a rotted line or fuel tank filler neck. You probably will never smell gas fumes or notice any loss of fuel economy. Some states require that you can not have a check engine light on to pass its state inspection.

Check ingine code says there is a air leak somewhere

evap leak can be due to a gas cap not tightened fully. Did this code come up after fueling? If yes, have auto parts store erase code for you at no charge.

There is a digital screen on the console; it shows the time and the miles till your next servicing; however, I had a servicing and the battery was unhooked, now it just blinks at me and I cant figure out...

1st put your car in park turn it off press and hold in the speed odometer button keeping it in turn the ignition key in this sequence run to off to run to off to run you are then going to see a sequence of numbers ex. 1111111,22222,33333,44444,55555,666666,7777,8888,99999 the gauges should go thru a sequence check as well you will see it while those numbers are flashing after you see the 99999 pay very close attention and have your ink pen or pencil and paper ready to write down the error code(s) it's going to say P and a number(s) these are you cars error codes beginning with P then it going to say done (good thing you need to see done )do this only once and follow instructions exactly then fix those codes lookem up after repairing codes unplug battery for 5 minutes and replug this resets your computer check ingine light should be flashing (good thing) drive car for 50 to 200 miles it should go away if all codes were fixed if not check ingine light will remain solid until you do so if you cant get your error codes this way then why not trying your local dealer that may be covered under your bumper to bumper warranty 1ak+f4pj7cbm32cuniyi2gaaaaaelftksuqmcc

Ran perfect now will not start

either the throttle postion sensor went out this is what tells the computer to let more fuel when you press on the gas,or map sensor maybe find someone with a scan tool and see if they can get real time data from the tps and it should if working properly the values should change smoothly when you press the throttle down.sounds like it floods out if you try to give it gas,but it is a sensor there are so many,my bet is tps
