2 screws located under trim panel at pull handle where u close door another screw at handle (door open) under trim cover. then plastic retainers hold panel to sheet metal. slide flat bladed preferebly plastic tool between trim and door and pry out words at retainer
Thanks for the post... I'd like to add that you have to peel the bottom of the leather material out and back from behind the door pull to get to those 2 screws which may not be obvious when you get in there. After you get the 3 screws out the rest of the panel is attached around the edge with press-in plastic pegs that are very tight so make sure you locate each one by prying it back a little and get hands on both sides of each peg for support so you don't break anything.

SOURCE: door panel removal
Sorry it took a couple days to post, computer problems I can't fix.
If he has not already taken care of it, here is what should be the case for the door panel.
On the door panel there will be either clips or screws in miscellaneous places, for full removal of this panel, one will need to have the window down on the car. There is a piece of molding that goes across the top back of the door panel that serves as both a guide and a noise reducer for the window. This piece clips the panel into the door itself. There should be a couple of screws around the door handle itself, and a couple on or under the armrest. There is a panel that I believe clips on at the base of the door panel called a kick panel. The keywords here are patience and kid gloves. This panel needs to be removed to access a series of screws that will need to be removed in order to get the door panel off. a flathead screw driver would work for the removal of this item, lightly prying around the edges. There should be two or three screw on either side of the panel as well.
I'm sure there wont be any difficulty for him in finding the screws, but the only thing I can't emphasize enough is patience. When dealing with 10 year old plastic clips, there is an imminent risk of breakage, they are cheap enough to replace, just an avoidable hassle.
