Well it is only a ford mondao with a different body shape ,No self respecting jag man would evan consider a diesel ,anyway enough winding up and back to problem ---diesel-- common rail injection ,,,,I honestly feel that it would need plugging in to a DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER to find the fault because its not like the older model diesels with an injector pump and its all manual .This could be a fault with the cold start or the injector that controls the firing order .Sorry i couldnt be of any more help but these new fancy electronics ??

2005 (Dec) Jaguar X-Type 2.0 Diesel. It starts with rough idle 500-600 rpm for 2-3 seconds. and after jumps to 850 - 900 rpm and then drives perfectly.

Question edited for clarity and translated into written English.
Question moved from Ford to Jaguar category.

You should always take the upgrades. They are fixes to known issues.

All Diesel engines are slow to start as they need pressure and heat which happens after a few revolutions of the engine.

Rough Idle is normally because the Throttle Body and MAF need cleaning.

DIESEL ENGINE NEEDS AIR TO OPERATE.IF AIR FILTER RESTRICTED.DIESEL ENGINE WONT RUN AND CLOGGED FUEL FILTER CAUSE STARTING PROBLEMS PROBLEMS WITH TURBOCHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER ACTUATOR WOULD CAUSE ENGINE RUN VERY SLOW NO POWER ON TAKE OFF.I SAY PROBLEM IN FUEL SYSTEM OR AIR INTAKE SYSTEM.IF YOU HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FLASH ON.
