2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Traction Control Problem

Hello,
I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Seems that the traction control is light is coming on during some parking maneuvers especially when changing from drive to reverse and vice versa.
I do not believe there is any tire slippage. Does anyone know what this might be? Transmission maybe?

Also not coming to a complete stop before changing gears will cause that as well.

Hi sounds like a wheel speed sensor you will need to get a scanner to check for a ABS fault codes you may even have to get the person to monitor the wheel speeds with the scanner to find the wheel speed sensor that is dropping out most likely a front wheel speed sensor

Traction control light coming on on my 2005 pontiac grand prix gtp on first take off

No different than the last vehicle problem you had

Need to check for codes & diagnose the system with
the fault & find a problem & make the repairs

Trac Control is part of the ABS Braking System & may need professional tools, to get that modules codes,so save your time for free checking at the parts store, to be told nothing of value there

Why does my 2005 pontiac grand prix say service variable effort steerin, traction control off, and service abs?

jack up the four points of the vehicle one at a time shake the tire up to down and left to right, you have bad hub assemblies which tells you your ABS IS BAD take it from there and see what lights disappear, keep me posted and we will go from there.

ABS< BRAKE<AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT will not go off.

Most likely a wheel sensor has gone bad. Each wheel has one. All 3 things here tie to each other. Need a scan tool to find out which sensor it is. they are about 50 to 100 bucks.

My traction control botton wont work on my 2004 grand prix is this a diy problem?

one question is your abs or brake light on. you might have a wheel abs hub going out and not reading that will prevent traction control to work

Abs and traction control light faults after a brake job. 2005 Pontiac grand prix

You have a bad sensor at one of the tires that need replacing that operates ABS and traction control. If you take it in to a shop it will run $130 but they can find which sensor is causing the problem. But if you do it you might have to replace all 4 sensors to make sure you got the right one. Every hard to diagnoses. Its better for the shop cause they can get electrical read outs for each sensor.
