I have a 1991 Crx Si with a B16A1 DOHC VTEC motor and the battery light has stayed on when i bought the car from my friend. Recently the battery light flashes so i sanded down all the ground wires and tightened the connections. The light stopped flashing for about 3 weeks and now its doing it again. I also have a Apexi VTEC controller that says my battery's voltage ranges from 13.2 - 14 depending on if i have the wipers on and etc and at night when the light flashes it makes my headlights flash and that gets annoying. I dont know what to check anymore and the car starts up fine, the light doesnt flash until the car is warmed up though. If any one can help i would appreciate it. Thank You!

Yes the starter from the SOHC motor will work on the DOHC. I have done it many times myself when I had my CRX back in the day. I also had the same question when I first changed mine.

I did and everything tested fine. now when i start the car the battery voltage is reading 14.9 and my friend thinks its the regulator inside the alternator because after a while his voltage kept rising until he eventually started smelling something burning and the alternator eventually overheated and started melting so maybe ill get another alternator soon. but thanks for responding back. if you have any other suggestions please let me know.
