You going to have to narrow it down to see what part is defective. first check make sure you getting sparks by pulling one of the cable and use spare plug and ground it making sure you getting fire when turning engine over. 4 things need to check for fuel delivery. fuse, relay, fuel pump and crank sensor. assumed fuse and relay are good, using 12v light tester locate the fuel pump connectors and connect pos and neg terminal and have someone turn engine over and see is you getting any power to the pump, if the pump is good, crank sensor will be faulty, what crank sensor does it sense the flywheel turning sending info to the ECU then the ECU send power to the fuel pump. keep in mind, fuel pump will only turn on as long the crank sensor sense the flywheel turning.

If the button feels free chances are it is not working , check your fuses with a test light to ensure they are all working properly.
Until the button actually clicks it will not engage.

Kia sportage cranks but seldom starts??

Have you checked the fuel pump relay to see if it is sending power to the pump ? The computer grounds the relay when the computer "sees" oil pressure or engine RPM.

My car won't start I have changed the coil fuel pump fuel pump relay and the Mfi relay I now think its the crank shaft relay but I do not know help me !

Sounds like maybe the main computer is bad. When you cranked the engine there is not any indication that it is firing. If you have changed the fuel pump and coil and it still wont even fire, the computer is most likely the cause. Even if the timming was off you would still get some indication that it was trying to start although it probably would not if the timming was off, but the fact it's not even trying to fire yeah that's my take.

99 f150 6cyl- the problem started with the pickup cutting out when I would try to give it gas and speed up. I changed the fuel filter but that didn't help, I changed the spark plugs and that...

Rather then guessing as to what the problem is learn to test ! Check the electrical circuit , hook up a fuel pressure gauge , use a spark tester to see if it has spark . Do you like buying parts you don't need ? Other wise your better off having a qualified repair shop check it out .

2002 Ford Explorer ran out of gas put gas in and won't restart. replaced fuel pump and fuel filter still won't start. Cranks but won't start

Most Fords have a fuel reset button. When you ran out of gas you tripped the circuit. Most of the time the button will be on the passenger side by the kick panel. The exact location should be in your owners manual or your local library or auto parts store will have a copy of one for your specific vehicle.

My 95 lincoln town car will be fine and then all of a sudden I can't get it to crank. I have changed the fuel pump, the fuel filter, I have sparks because I got shocked. was taught a trick of pushing...

check all your rounds on the body, behind kick panels, and in engine compartment. The relays you hear clicking are the power relay whcih turns your engine computer on. The other relay is the fuel pump relay, which is turned on by the engine computer. start there, report back.

PS. When you press the gas pedal to the floor during cranking, it shuts off the fuel supply to clear a flooded engine.

Fuel pump on 2004 pontiac grand am does not come on when car starts...checked fuses in engine compartment...turns over but doesn't fire...is this fuel pump?

Well i would change the fuel filter first. Then if that doesn't fix it there might be a reset button on the inside of the trunk for the fuel pump actually look for the reset button first. If you don't have one there is a relay switch under the hood sometimes they fail. You have three Ac,Fuel pump, door locks. The way i do it is turn the key on have some one put there hands and feel for the switch to work when you engage the power locks mark it with white tire crayon and feel for the ac when you turn it on it will still click even with the engine not running. mark that one also, Now the last one has to be the fuel pump relay turn the key on and it should click. if no click is heard? You have a bad fuel relay switch. replace it. If you feel the click and hear it? That would mean the fuel pump is bad. And these are in the tank. But please go with the easy stuff first. it might seam a waste of time checking the relays and marking them but i always fo this and mark them. cause you never know when your gonna need to find the relay something.
Good luck!
Hope i helped.

2004 ford ranger truck has spark and cranks but does not start. Was running then just stops. Have pushed button on inertia switch in cab and starts but then problem returns.

if the inertia switch had to be reset for truck to start and you were not in any accident inertia switch is faulty.... if that isnt the case make sure the fuel pump is opperational....( Turn the ignition on without cranking the motor and listen for the fuel pump (a whirring sound) It should make the sound for about 3 seconds and then shut off this is how it is suppose to opperate....also if not done recently change the fuel filter....
