You must remove the radio (unscrew the two security screws under the small flaps at the left and right sides of the radio face), get the radio serial number from th etag on the radio, then go to a BMW dealer, who can look up the security code.

The two screws require a special tool for removal. you can get it at Bavarian Autosport:

1997 z3 bmw radio lock vin#4uscj3324vlco7812

Getting the code to unlock the radio requires access to the factory data base, that is restricted and we do not have permission. You will need to contact the dealer for help with this. The original owner was given this code.

2005 gmc sierra, replaced radio with known good radio with same part # and model #, all functions work but there is no sound from the radio or the key and door chimes. Is this a lock feature. Took vehicle...

i cannot understand how you radio would work. These radios are coded throught data link to computer. the only way to get the stereo to work is to run a calibration program through the vehicle. then it should accept your new cd player. if the stereo's are the same then may I suggest you to take the radios appart and switch the parts that don't work like CD drive assembly and faceplate.but use your factory installed stereo as the main core, this should fix your isses and work fine since the calibration is for the origional factory stereo.

I have a 90 735i bmw and when changed battery I needed code to use radio but I do not have code?

If you have the model number for the radio and your vehicle docs, Any BMW dealer should be able to get the code for you, as long as its a factory installed radio

My battery died in my 735i, 1988 bmw. my radio stopped working. it shows 'code' on the radio. my code is 1545. i input it but nothing happens. what is the correct sequence to get it working?

If the wrong code was entered too many times the system locks itself out and you must wait approximately 30 minutes before you attempt to input the code. It is important that in this time that the radio is on, and that you don't attempt to enter the code. If this doesn't work I would verify that you actually have the correct code. The code is not written anywhere on the radio as it comes from the factory, however there is a serial number on the back of the radio that allows the dealership to retrieve it easily.

The factory radio has been locked out

the dealer is the only one that can unlock a locked radio, they will need to remove the radio, get a "code" off of the sticker on the back of it, and then call the dealers unlock assistance number to get an unlock code. it cant be done with out the dealer. im sorry :(

The battery on my 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser died and now I need a radio code to reprogram the radio.

if the code was not put in the owners manual when origionally purchased, you can pull the radio and retrieve info from the back. provided to the dealer they can get you the code

1998 AUDI QUATTRO BATTERY DIED. RADIO IS NOW IN SAFE MODE.

Unfortunately, if I am reading this problem properly, you have a Blaupunkt radio in your Audi. Disconnection from power source and reconnection without proper (un)locking code will result in the permanent disabling of said radio.

It's a common problem in factory Blaupunkt radios installed in Volvo's, BMW's Audi's, etc. A very effective anti-theft mechanism indeed!

94 bmw factory installed radio

hello . ok this happends after you try 3 times an incorrect radio code on the radio then you have to let the radio on for 60 min and the lock display will turn to code again if this happends constanly then the radio protection is bad and you need a new radio or you may take the radio to a radio fix place for them to take the protection part out
