One symptom is low and / or erratic idle speed. Its not a problem to remove the air intake pipe and look oat the throttle plate, if its dirty, clean it, with carburretor cleaning spray, that you can find in most fuel stations or parts shops.
Hope this helps

How do I clean the Plenum/Air Intake system

If you are just cleaning the throttle plate/bore, use carb cleaner in a spray can ( this will also clean some of the plenum as it is injested into the vehicle ) and remove the air intake hose from the air cleaner to the throttle bore assembly. OPen the throttle plate by hand and spray cleaner inside ( with vehicle not running ) and remove any carbon/oil deposits that are around the throttle plate. If the plate area is very dirty/black in color, you can use a toothbrush to help clean. When vehicle is started, it may run rough until all the extra cleaner is burned from the intake. If you want the entire upper system cleaned, you will require a fuel injection cleaning machine that most shops will have. The do it at home procedure as mentioned works well

I changed spark plugs, wires, fuel filter will not start unless I pat gas pedal

This is a rather easy solution. The throttle plate probably has carbon build up causing the air into the intake to be restricted. This would in turn cause a hard start condition. If you use an acid brush with carb clean it wil alow you to clean the carbon easily. You must open the throttle plate and spray it down then proceed cleaning with the brush. In some throttle plates there may be a hole for air blead that may also be blocked by carbon. This will clean off easily also if you use the same technique.

Stalling

.... Robert Grove
johnallen496, when you say it stalls at low speeds and stops, do you mean when slowing down and coming to a stop? does it stall at low speeds while the car is moving with your foot on the pedal just a little like when driving through a parking lot?...

I used the wrong box above, oh well ....

The most common cause of stalling at low speeds, especially idling and decelerating to a stop is carbon buildup. The throttle plates get coated with carbon closing down the opening slightly, this affects the idle speed, causing the engine to stall at idle and coming to a stop.

also carbon builds up in the cylinders and absorbs fuel intended to be burnt, leaning out the mixture and causing rough/low idle and stalling - especially when the engine is cold. Dirty injectors can cause the same symptoms/results

As a maintenance routine It's good to have the throttle plates cleaned and perform a top engine de-carbon treatment, and fuel injection service in more severe cases

Sea Foam makes a spray that works great for minor de-carbon service, just spay it into the throttle plates while it is running, one to two cans will do, add a can of Sea Foam or Techron to the gas tank each time you fill up for the next few tank full's.

If you still have problems sek out a qualified professional

Good luck!

2007 Camry idle low

Hello, if the check engine light is NOT on try cleaning the inside of the throttle body, carbon deposits can cause the throttle plate to not close properly, use a can of carbon cleaner/air intake cleaner and a nylon brush and open the throttle, disconnect the battery while doing this.

Reset obd on 2001 sequoia

The stalling is usually caused by carbon deposits in the throttle body, try remoioving the air intake tube from the throttle body, block the throttle plate open and use a small brush and some air intake/throttle body cleaner to clean the carbon out, do this with the battery negative cable off, reconnect everything and go drive it for about 15 minutes this usually restores the idle to normal.

Hello: Sounds like you have a dirty throttle body, get a can of carburetor cleaner, open hood, driver side remove rubber hose from air filter box to the throttle body, unplug the sensor (don't forget to reconnect it) Spray carburetor cleaner on a rag and remove all the black carbon in the throttle body, hold the throttle plate open and clean carbon off the edges of the throttle plate. put all back together then turn key on for ten seconds then off. do this three times in a row. this should correct the problem

Replaced plugs wires and coil pack runs better but still runs ruff at idle

You need to do a top engine clean to clear out excess carbon cleared out so that the knock sensor works like it is supposed to. You will also need to Clean the throttle plate the inside and outside where the intake hose goes into the engine, and inside the throat where the plate goes. What happens is over time carbon and gas gum builds up and causes the plate to not close all the way and will cause the plate to be open and the throttle sensor will be giving it gas for one position but the plate will be in another area causing a lean burn roll. you can use carburetor cleaner and a soft tooth brush to clean this off to fix the problem. If you need more assistance let me know and I will answer if you need more help and thanks for using Fix-ya.

When you start the car it revs up and down by itself

it may be possable that the throttle bogy is backed up with carbon around the throttle plate.

take the air intake tube off the throttle body.

open and close the throttle plate.

you will see black carbon buildup around the plate.
use a can of carb cleaner to shoot the carbon off the plate and all around the plate.

if that dosent do it
then listen for a vaccum leak somewere.
or maybe a vaccum hase has come off.

let me know if this helps

thank you much
