Hello , i have a mercedes ml 270 cdi from 2001 with 240000 kms, my problem is that the engine stop while i driving with no reason, some times I can start it again and driving for a while, and then stop it again. In the mercedes garage they did not find the problem. Now they told me that i have to change all the electrical cable of the engine.

Sounds like you have a speed sensor problem. Possibly input or output shaft speed sensor on transmission. You will need to find out what fault codes are being set and proceed from there.
Yes it is caused by a defective ABS hydraulic control valve, see the dealer for diagnosis and testing to confirm this is the problem as the part is about $3000.000
The air box is located on the LHS of the engine.
There are clips located at the top and bottom side of the box.
Poorly designed as this does not open up cleanly, and has increased chance of trapped dirt falling into intake.
Ensure all clips are unfastened, it catches at the rear, PULL this up and then toward you to expose the air filter.
Hello richie...the electric transfer case motors can fail causing the problem---check the plug to it and if all
looks ok, a new motor is properly reqiured.

check the gearbox oil level ,but their is no dipstick ,so its a dealer only job unless you can find a snap on man who sells a special tool that can measure the oil level ,
Component Y3/6N3 speed sensor 3 is faulty,That is a transmission code...the trans speed sensors are MADE into a printed circuit board that connects to the valve body...MB part number is 140-270-08-61.. LIST price in the USA is $225. TAKES about 1.5-2 hrs to install
you need a Brake safety switch replaced.This is located behind you brake pedal.it's a common problem. The warning lights will reset after a few engine starts.
