If the dome lights on your 2007 Hyundai Tucson do not come on when the driver's side or passenger doors are open, but they do work when you press the interior dome light buttons, there are a few things you can check to try to determine the cause of the issue:
Check the door switches: Make sure that the door switches, which are located on the inside of the doors, are working properly. If the switch is not working, it will not send a signal to the dome light to turn on when the door is opened.
Check the wiring: Check the wiring that connects the door switches to the dome light. Make sure that the wiring is not damaged or corroded, and that all connections are tight.
Check the dome light fuse: Check the fuse for the dome light in the vehicle's fuse box. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage.
Check the BCM(Body Control Module): The Body Control Module controls the door switches and the dome light. Make sure that the BCM is not malfunctioning.
Check the Sunroof switch: Make sure that the sunroof switch is not malfunctioning, sometimes that switch is used to turn on the dome light, if the switch is not working the dome light will not turn on.
It's important to have a professional technician to diagnose the issue and confirm what the problem is before trying to fix it. If you're not comfortable with troubleshooting the issue yourself, it's best to contact Hyundai dealership or a mechanic for further assistance. https://amzn.to/3XfuL5A

It is because there is a hard short to ground. It is either the wires have a short leading to the dome light, the dome light itself has a short, or the switch that turns the domelight on has a short. I would suspect either a bad switch or bad domelight if you have not messed with any wiring.
there are at least 3; 1 is using the dash light switch-turn all the way up;2 that show 4 lights on it-push it and it will turn them off-push it again and it will turn them on; three push on one end or the other end of the actual light.
If it turns on with the switch at the light, then at least the bulb is good. If neither door makes it work, then the switch in the light is probably bad. Use a test light to see if contact is made right, in the fixture.
The dome lamp has a switch that can be put into several positions. "Door" "Off" and "On" If you want the light to come on when you open the door then you must have the switch in the "Door" position.
The "Off" position will only let the dome lamp work when you override it with the dash control and the "On" position will leave the light on at all times - door open or not.
Oddly enough if the lights get power and work when grounded, then all the door switches that act as grounds must have gone bad at the same time. Although most interior light also have a switch directly on the fixture that allows being turn always on or always off, as well as working when the door ground switch is opened.
Center is the off position. Position 2 is "on when doors are open", Position 1 is "on all the time". The switch (relay) that turns it on when the door opens is likely bad. Play with the button ont he door frame to see if this problem is there.
Also, check if the light comes on when you unlock the car when the swich is in position 1. If light does come on when unlocking, you have a bad switch on the door frame (turns light on when you open the door when the doors were already unlocked). If you don't get light, the switch by the dome light might be bad.
That particular switch is on the dome light itself. It'll have three settings, Off, On, and Dome. Just like it says, the Off position makes sure the dome light never comes on, the On position makes sure the dome light is always on and the Dome position makes sure the dome light comes on when you open the door.
Hello , check the door open actuator . This is the " button " looking switch on the door jamb . It maybe on the hindge side or the latch side. It may be shorted.
