Messages: ENGINE FAULT,STABILITY CONTROL FAIL, ENGINE STALLED have appeared one at a time or two combined three of the last five times we have taken the car out. This is a 13500 mile car with infrequent use. The dealer has not called back after caller to talk to a service supervisor 29 hours ago. What are my options?

When you get these messages it meant sthe control module for this system has detected a fault, you must have the system scanned with a special toot to see what fault code(s) is in memory

the stab light comes on if the battery is low because you are cranking the engine your aj26 v8 engine may have a common problem for cars up to that model/year with worn nicosil coated bores ie. low compression check the vin no. at your jag dealer you can get it started by removing the spark plugs and putting a egg cup of engine oil in to each of the cylinders the first thing to do is to check for fault codes using a obd code reader for a clue followed by a compression test

We are assuming that you are talking about the VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) and VSC OFF message.

Stability control systems are offered under the following names: On Lexus is called as Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC) systems.

It can mean a lot of things. Usually, it is an engine fault that leads to VSC cancellation as well. Scanning for actual fault codes would be a good start.

I chased a similar problem for several years. Stalled, got towed no problem found. The thing would heal and then fail at random on hot days. After checking everything electrical, fuel pump pressure etc, nothing could be found and I could not duplicate the problem. One day after being towed to a shop again, van started and would not fail but this time I had the mechanic put a clear by pass line along with a pressure gauge and I monitored the flow for about forty five minutes. Suddenly I started to see a stream of air bubbles and the pressure began to drop until the engine shut off. It was the FUEL PUMP all along and no one was able to determine that w/ all the test equipment. Went to Kragen Auto, now Oriely's and got a fuel pump. Had the shop drop the tank and install it. Have never had a problem again. Don't worry about what the mechanics tell you that it is not. Change the fuel pump

The 1st thing you need done is to have a scan tool hooked up and the computer stored fault codes read.

first job is to check the part load and main beather hoses are ok the stability system light may be a false indicator if the engine has stalled best is to get fault codes out of the ecm with a code reader to help but air leaks on the engine inlet side can cause strange/seeming unrelated symptoms

this may sound crazy but what sort of fuel are you running? Try filling the car with premium 98 octane and run it - if you are running inferior grade or dirty fuel the throttle body sensors will register a differential in the burn/energy and throw a fault. The bad news is that a faulty throttle body will cause the same problem and cost a fortune to replace.

He describes what goes wrong in the $2800 ABS control electronic board, and that simply re-soldering a few heavy wires to the board will fix the trouble.
