the drier on the pump needs to be replaced every few years, but few people ever do. you could have a leaky bag if the pump runs a lot, or the pump fuse might be blown, or the drier clogged. the switch in the trunk is only for when you raise the car on a lift, leaving the rear axle hanging.

JacDempsey, how about shocks/struts? If they are bad, that could be what u need to cruise the highway nice and smooth the way a Grand Marquis should.
