Sounds like the phone may need programing,take to it to the dealer ask them how ,or if they can do it for you they shouldnt charge you! its a courtesy thing,maybe you are doing it wrong, good luck.

Does it happen to say "CODE" ? Was battery recently disconnected or go dead? Ot's your theft deterrent radio and needs code to be unlocked. Check owners manual for small credit card size card, that has you code and enter it into your radio. If you don't have code, you're going to have to either have BMW or yourself pull radio and provide BMW the serial # off of radio.
I am puzzled. I would have thought that your car is too new to have a radio theft protection code, and too old to have a bluetooth code.
Assuming I am wrong and you do need a theft code, you turn on the radio and the display says "CODE". You punch in the numeric code using the numbered buttons on the radio.
If you try three times and don't get the code right, you have to leave the radio turned on for an hour while the car is running before it will give you another chance.
hi this sounds more like the reader has come adrift inside the slot, if it was the key card it would not work at all, but it is still reading it, so it looks like the electronic part of the reader is not making contact with the card...hope this helps
You'll have to go to the dealer to have them do it. They can pull your radio and read the serial number to get info from computer on which codes work for your radio. For giggles, check inside your owners manual case for a card that has it on it. There were two cards supplied to the original owners when bought new. Most people just put the cards in there.
It is very important that the engine not overheat! The head can crack and this would be very bad. I think your car is too new to need a new radiator. Make sure the coolant level is correct. Check the thermostat housing for leaks. When the engine is hot, check if the fan clutch is locked up and actually driving the fan. Turn the engine off and grab the fan and try to turn it. It should turn stiffly. If it spins freely the fan clutch is dead. It is possible that the water pump impeller has failed, especially if it is a plastic one.
