2002 buick century remote keyless trunk control repair. The remote wont open the trunk, the button in the glove box clicks but the trunk wont open even if you manually push the trunk button.You have to open the trunk with the key.

Do you have keyless entry ?
The remote keyless entry system performs the following functions:
• Locking the vehicle doors
• Unlocking the vehicle doors
• Opening the rear compartment lid

Rear Compartment Lid Release Circuit Description
The BCM receives a signal via Class II from the PCM indicating the position of the transaxle range switch. When you press the release button on the RKE transmitter, a signal is sent from the remote control door lock receiver through circuit 377 to the BCM. Then, the BCM sends a ground signal through circuit 253 to the rear compartment lid release relay. The relay receives power from the DOOR LOCKS fuse. When the relay receives the ground from the BCM, the relay's internal switch closes sending B+ (via circuit 56) to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator. A ground is always supplied to the actuator through circuit 350. When B+ is received at the actuator through circuit 56, the rear compartment lid releases.

You could jumper pins at the rear compartment lid release relay , this would open it .

Behind the IP compartment, attached to the underside of the cross-car beam . Need to pull glove box out .

try putting pressure on the trunk then pressing the remote...somtimes they get jammed.

If it has the electric trunk release, the button could be in the glove box.
Otherwise you may have to remove the back seat to gain entry to the trunk.

unhook hot wire to alt at night if batt is up the next morning it is the alt

The wires in the trunk that run up by the right hinge are broken.

check in the glove box there should be a button there you press.

It seems like the Trunk Release Actuator is not working. Most likely it will need to be replaced with a new one.

sounds like a fryed switch in the trunk
it is only a pop switch in the trunk and they do break

If the transmitter is opening the doors, it does not need to be re-synked. You may need a new remote.

usually these buicks have a fob (keyless) but if you misplaced it try checking the glove compartment it should be a bright color or if u have another key as mine does try to unlock it that way
