Hello! found my truck(06 silverado 2 wheel 5.3)with a stone dead battery this morning and after jumping noticed the blower was on high and wouldn`t shut off even with the truck turned off and the speed selector switch made no change on the fan speed.Had to pull the 40 fuse to stop the fan or kill the battery again. I`ve been reading about having to change the resistor and connector but want to be sure, temps are`nt cold here
The connection at the blower resistor on these model years had problems with poor connections.
The increased resistance on the terminals caused them to heat up and burn. Some would go open circuit and not work at all and some would short to ground and run all the time, like yours.
As you have already discovered, you will need to replace the pieces.

Thanks again Kittylake, I won`t be able to get to a part supply for a while however I removed the resister and it wasn`t yet melted so I cleaned the terminals (resister and plug) and applied some ignition grease and it is working fine and should hold me until I can get to town
