You'll have to remove the engine cover under the bottom so you can position the new belt on the pulleys properly. Get a wrench or tensioner tool and turn the tensioner clockwise to relax the drive belt. Don't apply excessive force.

It's hard to draw a picture with words, but looking at the engine from the passenger side of the car, there are basically two top pulleys, two middle, and two bottom. The drive belt goes around the outside of the two top and two bottom, and on the inside of the two middle.

On the tension pulley, using a ratchet or breaker bar and a socket, apply pressure to the pulley to loosen the belt. remove the belt and thread the new in place, again applying pressure to the tension pulley, and finish replacing the belt. here's the pattern. t/p is you tension pulley. hope this helpstwoduckster.jpgmoz-screenshot.png

The problem is the rear motor mount is filled with hydraulic fluid that leaks onto the accessory drive belt. The motor mounts fail prematurely and the fluid makes the belt squeak. Toyota dealership I took my 2006 Corolla to replaced the motor mount and belt free of charge.

Check tension the drive belt(s) as slipping at low rev is a classic indication of this fault. In extreme conditions a rubber burning smell may be present. Replacement of drive belts is the 100% remedy and best option .

5 years or 40-50k miles. Any fraying or damage seen is bad. Squeeking is anoying. Oil or coolant soaked. Stretching too far.

My serpentine belt broke

not to much a rachet or a wrench their will be one marked pulley that one will be movable (springy)you just move that one and slide the belt in place if not its a alternatooer adjustment
