In our 2002 Honda Accord LX both low beam lights went out together but the high beams work fine. They went out together, what could be the cause?

Before you do anything else, you should check fuse number 2 (7.5 amp) in your engine compartment fuse box. It is your dimmer relay fuse. Fuse number 1 (20 amp) is your left headlight and fuse number 3 (20 amp) is your right headlight.
If the number 2 fuse is blown, and you replace it, if it blows again, I would have the system checked.
Hope this helps you.

THERE IS NO FUSE #2 ON MY 2002 ACCORD V6, I TRIED TO INSERT THE SPARE 7.5A FUSE IN THE EMPTY SLOT FOR FUSE#2 BUT THERE ISN'T EVEN THE METAL RECEPTACLE IN THE SLOT FOR A FUSE. STRANGE!

I have high beams on both sides , no lo beams at all, and both failed at same time. I found no blown fuses at all. I did notice a recall on 2002-2004 CRV and Pilots for this issue and checked my VIN for the Accord, but it is not listed.

Honda CR-V 2005. Low beam headlights don't work. High beams work fine

Bulbs usually don't burn out together, but it's still important to rule that out by checking for power. Most total headlight failures are caused by a bad component like a fuse, relay, or module. Wiring problems can also cause both headlights to stop working. High beam headlights don't work or low beams don't work.

2005 honda acc'd lx front lights low beam out but high beams are fine. fuse box under hood both h & low beams use same fuse is there a different fuse I am unaware of in the circuit that I can check?

The low beams have a different fuse then the high beams. High beams fuse's 3 & 5 both 10amp . low beams are 1 & 6 both 10 amp . plus there is a relay control module . The relay for the low beams could be bad ,or the light dimmer switch is bad . or the combination switch control unit is the culprit . You can find a wiring diagram at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html . Check out some basic electrical trouble shooting videos on you tube an test the circuit .That's best advice I can give , trouble shooting automotive electrical systems is no easy task . Especially for a rookie . Headlamp switches are not wired directly to the headlamps , the switch is a low voltage input to the combination switch control unit ,which then sends a signal to the relay control module for activation . All electronics
