Help with Break Job on 2007 Chrysler Town and Country Touring

I am trying to change the brake discs on my 2007 T&C Touring. There is a clip on the outboard that connects the caliper block to the mouting bracket. How do you remove this clip? Also, does anyone know where I can get step by step procedure to change the front and rear discs? Thanks.

    • Negative battery cable
  2. Raise the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
    • Fuel line from the front of the tank
    • Ground strap
    • Inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T strap fastener and lower the tank about 6 inches
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module

  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.

SOURCE: low speed fan relay for the 2005 chrysler town and country

If you are talking about the cooling fan relay for the radiator there is no low speed and high speed relay. There is only one relay and it is behind the grill revitted to the bumper rail. It is doesnt look like you typical relay.

I replaced the pads on the 2007 Town and Country Touring and the caliper starting Burning.

It will not be the caliper burning.... If anything suspect the brake pads. There could be a few problems causing this. Upon installation, were the pads and slide assemblies cleaned and lubricated with synthetic brake grease? If not the pads may be sticking due to lack of lubrication. If lubrication was applied, there may have been some on the pad material and this is what is causing the burning smell. Did the calipers push back easily for installation of the pads or were they stiff? All these points can contribute to a hot smoking brake.

I need to change front brake pads

You have two bolts to remove the caliper (it will still be attached to the flex hose). then use a C clamp to compress the caliper piston (one side on outside brake pad the other end on the back of the caliper). Inspect other components, replace pads and reinstall. I would highly recommend replacing rotors as well or at least having them turned. Its a pretty easy job if you have done similar jobs in the past.
