Replace Slave Cylinder

Check clutch oil (dot 3 brake fluid) level. If its low, fill and bleed the clutch. If its ok on fluid, odds are its the slave.

95 ford escort problem with the cluch, friend said it might be out of fluid. can not find cluch master cylender to put fluid in

The clutch slave cylinder gets it fluid from the "Brake Master Cylinder" resevoir. If the fluid is out there is possibly another problem. Anyhow, there is a bleeder plug on the slave cylinder, make sure the brake resevoir is full and the lid is secured back on then have a friend work the clutch pedal in as you loosen the bleeder on the clutch slave cylinder. Only have the person working the clutch pedal release the clutch after you have retightened the bleeder. AND FOR GODS SAKE AND YOUR OWN DO NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE RUNNING WHEN PERFORMING THIS!!! Many heads have been crushed due to stupidity, not thinking and getting in a hurry.

How do you add transmission fluid to a manual Mazda 6? No car manual. Trans light just came on and it started jumping.

The manual transmission cluch is powered by the power brake system and share fluid. Check your brake fluid level to see if it is low. If it is low, you have your culprit! Just add more fluid to the brakes and you should be fine. If you think you might have a leak, have it checked. Brake fluid is flamible and an overheated cluch could cause it to catch fire.

Cluch

To bleed the clutch, there is a little slave cylinder next to the transmission, on that slave cylinder there is a bleed nipple. Undo that put a pipe on it that fit nicely, put the other end of the pipe in a jar with some brake fluid. When you have got that right, pump the clutch pedal up&down. but keep a eye on the fluid in the reservoir under the hood, keep pumping the pedal until all the air bubbles are gone. when they have all gone tighten up the bleed nipple without taking the pipe off. then you are done.

Good luck!!
