First place I'd start is have fuel pressure tested to make sure it's within spec, or at least change fuel filter if not done recently, and see if that helps first. Was tune-up & air filter change done at regular intervals?

Ran out of gas this morning, filled tank, killed battery trying to start it, jumped it, ran fine for 4 miles then started cutting out, now it won't turn over at all,... Ant suggestions

Hi Mike:
Since you've solved the gas problem, it looks like you're just dealing with a bad battery.
Try getting a jump with boosters to get it home.
Then check the battery......... fluid level....... Will it take a charge...... Will it hold a charge.
are the terminals and connections all good?
All the fun stuff.
Enjoy

Starter solenoid or just a starter bad, sometimes this comes out of nowhere but usually you can hear it start cranking slow shortly before failure.

I have a 1997 dodge avenger es 2.5 liter here's

Check the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator for any sign of gas being sucked into the line. A failed regulator will let extra gas get into the engine. If it's okay, have the fuel pressure checked. That's sure a lot of gas, way too much for the engine. Good luck.

I have a 91 Ford Ranger 4.0L 4x4. Yesterday, i went to work everything was fine. went to lunch, fine as well. After work, i went to start it and nothing. I get power when i turn the key and can compression...

This may be a dumb suggestion, but have you tried changing out the battery? I had a similar problem and changed my solenoid, cleaned all grounds and wiring connections and after all that it ended up that a cell was shorting out in the battery. Something to check out anyways. Good luck and hope this helps.

1990 ford diesel non turbo

it sounds like your fuel lines aren't maintaining pressure and the angle is allowing too much fuel to drain out of the lines. i have the same issue with and older f350 diesel if i let it sit a while and it doesn't get started.
