Was on a date, left the car slightly on while the window defrost was going. Battery died, got a jumped, and radio said "code"...but i dont know my code...any help please.
There is a 4 digit security code that needs to be entered into the radio. Look in your owners manual, it may be written in the book or there may be a card in the booklet that has the code. If you find it, enter it once, if it doesn't work, stop, because entering the wrong code will lock up the radio. You will need to go to the dealer to get the code if you cannot find it. http://repairpal.com/volvo-850-1994/common_problems

Sounds like the vehicle is not charging you may need a new alternator get the car going with jump leads again and test the voltage at the battery terminals with a DC volt meter expect 13.5-14.5 if you get less than 13.5 your alternator is bad or wiring fault also check the alternator belt is tight.
red is hot and black is ground never switch the two around , put them back the way they where and if your battery is going dead because of to much voltage drawn then you need to up the battery size and alternator .

theft lock is for your powertrain.....radio has its own separate code.....can have the code found at dealer or you can pull the radio and call the code in to dealer to turn radio back on
Hi!
Start by charging the battery completely. Then, start your car and while running, remove the NEGATIVE battery cable from the battery. If the car dies, your alternator is bad. If it keeps running, reinstall the battery cable and turn the car off. Check for something that's on that would drain your battery like a light in the trunk, glove box, etc. that wont shut off.
