I have a 1995 Hyundai elantra 5 spd 1.6L 4cyl and oil seeping out above the oil filter, white smoke and every time I stop I have to restart vehicle already changed altenator, oil pump, belts changed oil, don't exactly know where the leak is coming from but its right by the oil filter or above it.
It maybe a valve cover leak, the retangular covers (2) the sparks plugs are located along the side, if you see oil around you will need to have the valve cover gasket replaced
I did a little research, could the old rubber seal from the oil filter could have been stuck to the engine block and once the new oil filter was put on it did not get a proper seal, next is the vehicle loosing oil really fast, this need to be check first before we can call it a cracked block. Remove the oil filter and take a look at this area
