Can you advise if the 1999 arnage green label is a car worth buying, is it reliable,or is it a money pit, the one i am thinking to buy has 33k miles

It has no more service bulletins then any other cars....You always take a chance when you buy a used vehicle, there may be some hidden troubles ? Then again it may be a very reliable vehicle for you,

200000 miles on a engine is gamble.if you had 5.9 diesel engine.you have more miles left on it.if you buy 200000 miles vechicle look for sign blue smoke or heavy white smoke.make sure you have good power going up hill good,throttle response have no flat spots,make sure engine not missing,and knocking.if all is good buy, just dont pay a too much money have too too many miles on it.buy as is no warranty.

You can take the car to any autozone or advanced auto parts. Tell them your engine light is on and you would like it tested. They will come out to your car and find the exact code and tell you what is wrong with it. It doesnt cost anything, it may be an inexpensive fix, and at least you will know what is wrong with the vehicle.

They are many and all expensive...but it is a Bentley!

Oil seal behind flywheel leaks.

Fuel rail O rings leak fuel. Need to remove inter cooler and all that that involves....Bio fuel makes it happen sooner.

Vee belts wear..buy Danish made belts from dealer.

Power steering and alternator brackets subject to failure.

Radiator top outlet breaks off when top hose becomes old and stiff...radiator is $1300.00 plus $400.00 core charge and two way shipping.

If if a Green Label, then similar but more engine problems.

No there is no way of putting a better transmission in it and these kinds of cars have interference-motors in them to were if the timing-belt breaks then the pistons will hit the vavles because the valves have stopped going up and down. In-short, when these tauruses have that many miles on them, the timing-belt will be going bad as well or even break then you will really have a problem.

DON"T BUY IT, THEY ARE MONEY PITS!!!!!!

what a 1999 petrol automatic ?? 2000 euros tops ,now a diesel manual thats a different thing and its worth this sort of money

take the vehicle to a trusted mechanic. it's worth spending some money to save alot of money.

Very reliable cars. We have a 1999 taurus and with regular maintainence and services, we are at 190,000 miles and it still runs great. Travels about 60 miles per day.

I would not buy that vehicle unless he can prove there is no internal damage to the engine. The repairs on it could exceed the value of the car....

If you are buying the vehicle from a dealer then they should give you a guarentee on the vehicles condition.If you are buying the vehicle privately then i suggest taking the vehicle to a dealer for them to advise you on costs and repairs needed.If you are purchasing the vehicle at a good market price then it may be worth while spending a little money getting it reliable.
