the bulb sockets go bad all the time on volvos. look at the bulb base were it slips into the socket you will see a very small little black maek on the wire on the bulb. get a new socket at volvo. they just plug in
Are they the correct bulbs? Correct fuse? Are the contacts clean and no moisture going to them? It is good to use the lithium grease that the factory uses which prevents moisture in the contacts which will short and burn out bulbs and can lead to shorting out the entire circuit.
I had the same problem. It was a defective lamp socket on the driver's left side, Volvo Part Number 8662985. Costs me $11.24 to replace the lamp socket, which included the bulb. If you've already replaced the bulbs yourself, you will find replacing the socket pretty easy, just use a thin flathead screwdriver to delicately pry off the metal retainer clip which holds the lamp socket in place, as you'll need to reinstall the existing metal retainer clip once you've replaced the lamp socket. Two minute job.
For Front turning signal, you need to remove the whole head light system to get to turn signal. 4 screws attach it to the car's body. Make sure to remove the lamps first and disconnect the switch for the turn signal lamp. Just replaced it last week myself.
