How do you open the fuel cap door on a volkswagen jetta without the power door button

Pushing the door with your hand isn't going to help, but after digging through a lot of info online, I succeeded in doing this. You have to peel back the lining of the trunk on the right side. Once you get a chance to look in there, there's a somewhat transparent white box inside the trunk near the gas cap. Attached to that is a small metal arm that connects to the inside of the gas cap release.

Tug on that piece of metal, and you'll pop open the gas cap.

open the trunk and look around the inside where the fuel filler is-there should be a cable attached to the latch that acts as a manual over ride-if there is none, you will need to carefully pry at the latch to pop it open.

A lot of cars had a pull in the trunk or somewhere close to the filler door just for this purpose, look around or check the manual for the pull, It is usually bright yellow and marked fuel filler, check it out, hope this helps.
