fsm says.
4.7 quote:
The Intake Manifold Air Temperature IAT sensor is located on the left side of the intake manifold.
For a temperature of 68F (20C) the resistance is approximately 6000 ohms. For a temperature of 104F (40C) the resistance is approximately 3300 ohms. (this forum hates degrees symbols , dang)
its just a Thermistor. NTC
on some cars, its in the MAF
others its screwed in to the air cleaner box.
others, (yours) its in the air plenum. (MAP base EFI)
the map system needs the plenum baro and temp. TOGETHER.
you need to check the fuel pressure, and did you mean you replaced the distributor or just the rotor because inside the distributor is a pickup plate that some times causes this also 02 sensor can cause this.is your check engine light on if so go to chain auto parts store they usually read your codes for free.
Estoy asumiendo que es GRAND CHEROKEE, sin embargo en la descripcion indicas Cherokee, asi que puedo decirte lo siguiente para.... Make: JEEP Model: GRAND CHEROKEE - LIMITED Year: 1997 Engine: V8 - 5.2L - FI - - GAS
Trouble Code Conditions:
Check with ignition on or engine running; battery voltage more than 10v; The PCM detected the IAT Sensor input was over 4.90v (exc. Dakota, Durango, Ram) or 4.98v (Dakota, Durango, Ram) for 3 seconds.
Possible Causes:
IAT Sensor signal circuit shorted to VREF (5v)
IAT Sensor signal circuit is open, or the ground circuit is open
IAT Sensor is damaged or it has failed (an internal open circuit)
depends on engine. all are located in the intake manifold though.
