Did you put more gas in it? Will the engine crank at all, if not, what sound does it make?

This happened to me too. First, apparently putting in 1 gal of gas was not enough; it required at least 5 gallons. But since my mechanic was checking anyway, they discovered a fuel leak (I confirmed) so that had to be replaced and that was a YIKES moment on my checkbook. As much as I love Volvos, this one has been a nightmare and will probably be my last.

Any noise when you turn the key?
check your fuse box under the hood and inside the car.
if its all good, check ignition (alarm)?

So it wont crank or it wont start?

If it wont crank:
Check and see that all of your fuses are still good. Be sure to also check the fuse box under the hood.

If it wont start:
There is a test port on the fuel rail. Turn the key to the on position and then push the button inside the test port (like a tire valve) and see if fuel comes out.

If there is no fuel in the fuel rail, then you have an issue with your fuel pump/filter ect. This is very common after running out of gas.

My 2006 chevy trailblazer 2wd 6cyl wont start. makes clicking noise, then nothing lights/radio etc work but wont start what is it

You got a jump and it ran fine? It's your battery. The lights and radio are much easier for a battery to handle than spinning a car engine. Again, if all you needed was a jump, you have a bad battery.

I have a 2001 Volvo s80 that ran out of gas. Now, my car will not turn over and it seems like my battery is low. I put 3 gallons of gas in the tank, and when I tried to start it I see message that says...

I would disconnect the battery, then reconnect and have someone jump the car while trying to start. Seems like a safety error that shut your car off so your fuel pump wouldn't burn out.

Car wont start: 1. Had it tested technician sad

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

Wont start turns over and clicks even with battery charger on jump start mode

Sounds like a bad starter. Even though the battery is charged the starter is to week to turn the motor over. Try replacing the starter and see it that helps. If that does not work. Go to a dealership mechanic. Thanks for asking!

My 2000 eclipse wont start up all the way

I have the same problem on my 2002 Eclipse RS 2.4l 4 cylinder. Replaced the battery, starter, fuel pump(not at one time) . It started up when I had the starter put on as well the fuel pump. But everytime I started the car up it ran good till I turned it off the problem was still there. The car sounds like it wants to start but it sputters you can smell the gas so I know its getting fuel. it starts up fine with a cold start like in the morning.

Try getting a diagnostic thats what Im going to do next week.
good luck!!!
