My 1996 cutlass ciera stalls out when idling,

My 1996 cutlass ciera stalls out sometimes when idling, driving slow, and turning. It has also died out when I was driving around 70 mph. It acts like it is just losing power and I have to pull over and shut it off for about 10 seconds, then it will start back up and drive good. Sometimes just before shuting it off the motor spits and sputters then dies. I have replaced the fuel filter and that didnt help.

My 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera SL is stalling on me while driving, it just dies. After is sits for about 1 or 2 minutes it starts back up and drives like nothing is wrong. No caution light or anything comes...

Same year, same problem.It was the fuel pump, located in gas tank.

Dies for no reason

Need more information. Does it stall while driving or idling? Once it dies, does it have problems starting while its hot? Does it die at night when running other things such as headlights etc.?

96 Oldsmobile ciera runs great but dies randomly driving or idle

I would try replacing the ignition module located on the front of the engine where the plug wires connect.The ignition moduel is where the ignition coils them selves screw down to and a harnes plugs into.

tcc stuck try unpluging it and see if same but dont drive with unpluged will burn up transmission also could be fuel pump . or crank shaft postion sensor . try the tcc first then vheck fuel presure , and then check for codes with scanner

Try the fuel pump Relay. I had the exact same problem and thats all it was. It will eventually stop sending fuel at all. The relay is under the hood on the passenger side front corner. Ther are I think 5 there, the fuel pump relay is all the way to the right looking down into the engine compartment. Hope this Helps

96 ciera starts and runs idle seems ok new tps stalls when put in gear and quits while driving but starts back up new fuel filter and fuel system cleaned

The tps has to be set properly to work correctly with a volt meter or scan tool.

does it also stall when u put it drive to if so it might be ur torque convertor not unlucking u can unplug the wiringplug on the transmission see if that helps
