Some pressure monitor systems won't reset until the car has been driven for a distance at highway speeds.
If the sensor continues to stay on, then you may have a faulty sensor. It will be tricky to diagnose which tire has the faulty sensor though
the procedure is follows
With the engine on...
Push the Setup button, until your driver display says something like "Press Reset for system check".
Then push Reset. The system check will start, rotating through a series of checks.
About the fifth or sixth check will be the tire pressure. The system will sound the tone (same that when just that light came up) and It'll say something like "Check Tires Pressure" on that moment press and hold for 3 or 4 seconds Reset. When you release the Reset button It'll show "Hold Reset if tires are OK". While that's up, hold the Reset button. After 3 or 4 seconds, the tire warning light will blinck 2 or 3 times and then will click off.
---------
if that does not work read as follows:--
The low tire pressure warning light does not automatically turn off when the tire pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) for several minutes to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light. Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure.
The spare tire often has a sensor in it too. Also ALL the tires need to be within 2 pounds of eash other. A regular tire pressure guage is NOT accurate enough, you need a digital gauge. Not a crappy one either.
First you need to open the driver door on the door jam will be a plate that will read p.s.i. front and rear that will give you the correct air pressure. you must check air pressure before you drive nissan becouse heat build up in tire adds pressure and will give you the wrong air pressure reading. when air pressure is correct the light will reset it self after driving for more than two miles.
your tires should not be filled at 40psi it can damage tires, 36 psi is enough, at nissan we've had a rash of tire sensor problems! You may have a bad sensor....After getting the sensor fixed look into NITRO FILL this where nissan or another nitrofill equipppied dealer installs nitrogen instead of air the benefits are less sensor problems because the pressure does not fluctuate with tempature so you blow less sensors...this technology is used for aircraft and nascar!

This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution
positively .thank you for using fixya.
The sensors read internal pressure, and sometimes temperature. The information received at the sensor is analyzed, and any issues with any of the tires are sent to the car's vehicle information system (computer).
Information is most often sent wirelessly as a radio signal. Most manufacturers (Nissan included) use a sensor mounted inside the tire. This is where the expense for the consumer comes in. Each sensor has a battery with a life of about 5-10 years. On most, the battery is not serviceable, and the entire sensor must be changed. The sensor stem is also subject to damage, as is the sensor itself, when the tire hits a curb or the car gets into an accident. And each time a sensor is changed, it generally has to be reprogrammed into the control module so it can be recognized.
The Fix is to take it to the dealer or independent tire shop and have the sensors serviced. Cost can range from $20 to $200 depending on if the battery is replaceable, the sensor is damaged or not, if foreign matter such as "Fix-A Flat" was ever used ETC.

You probably didn't need new tires unless you had some miles on it. Remember that the spare tire also has a pressure monitor as well. It most likely is causing the low tire pressure light on the dash and only needs to be inflated back to what ever your other tires are set to. I had the same problem on my RX and took it back to the dealership where they told me since the spare is exposed to the same elements (it's under the back of the RX - you have to use the tire iron to let the spare down), it will inevidably lose air.
Good luck.

Do you have four tires the same make, size and diameter?
Is your ABS system in good shape?
If one tire is rotating slower or faster than others...the light will come on ......as the abs reads tire rotation.......faster rotation...(low tire)
Other cure is disconnect the battery for 10 min...reattach and try.

Is there a special thing to do to reset the guage. I know my Toyota Rav 4 has one.
My 2007 Nissan Versa tire pressure guage is still on after adding air to the tires that were low. Is there some way to reset this without going to the dealer?
