1966 ford mustang conv 289 2bl. When I got the

1966 ford mustang conv 289 2bl. When I got the the car it was hard to start especially when it
was hot. We rebuilt the carb with all new stuff and cleaned really well. The hard starting when hot is gone and it pulls
well but it tries to conk out when you come to a stop. We did adjust the timing and replaced the timing chain and gear. I still think it is the carb or even the 40 year old distributor

Try adjusting the air-feul mixture or just turn the idle up a little bit. For either of these there would be a screw adjustment near carb

It is mounted on the passenger side, front fender about 2" inside of the finder edge and about 1" forward of the rear edge of the cowl vent. This photo gives you a good look. http://www.mustangdreams.com/Ford-Mustang-1966.htm To get an exact measurement find a 1964-73 Mustang and measure it.

Change the fuel filter at the gas tank,at the carb. Then put a new fuel pumpon.
