How do you replace a window regulator on a 2001 hyundai sonata passenger side? I have already taken off the door panel.

Before you condemn the regulator, test for power at the power motor plug. If it does, and the regulator doesn't go up or down your problem is gear on direct drive or plastic chain on non-direct drive. But if non above mention is the problem then it's the regulator assembly that needs to replace. Follow this removal procedure with the special spoon frying tool remove door paneling gently, to avoid damage on pop up clips, remove window switch control, remove grab handle control, electrical harnesses and finally, you will see the entire view of your mission. Note: the window must be on down position to be able the glass first, next is your window regulator assembly. Good luck to you.

its just a motor , it rotates. all you do is emulate what it used to do.

the cable in the window regulator is bindded up only way to fix it is to reploace the regulator.

REMOVE DOOR PANEL AND TRY TO ROLL UP, LISTEN FOR THE MOTOR. IF NOTHING THEN REMOVE THE MOTOR AND TRY TO OPERATE IT IF THE MOTOR WORKS WHILE OFF THE CAR THEN I WOULD REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR.

Most likely a broken window regulator

its a complete unit and not dificult to change once the door panel is removed

You probably have to remove the door panel in order to get at the screws at the back of the panel that hold the light into place.

roll the window down pry door panel along bottom and side edges. when clips are free lift up on panel the top edge has now clips or screws it wedges between window and door shell

there are screws along the trim of the door remove them and it should pop off . that happened to my sonota the glue holding the window wore out

SHOULD BE A TOTAL OF 8 SCREWS 5 YOU CAN SEE 3 THAT ARE HIDE BEHIND COVERS, IT ALSO HAS CLIPS TO HOLD IT ON YOU PULL ON IT, IT SHOULD POP OFF,YOU LOWER WINDOW A LIITTLE TO GET PANEL OFF. YOU CAN BUY THE HOLE WINDOW REGULATOR.I BOUGHT MINE FOR $ 40.00, THE CABLE BREAKS. YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL THE HOLE WINDOW OUT ALSO I HOPE THIS HELPS
