The car is turning over but will not start and run

You need to first check to see if you are getting fuel and spark. Detach the air intake and spray a little starting fluid in the air intake. if it starts and runs for a moment then you likely have a bad fuel pump or fuel pump relay. if it does not start you have a spark or timing issue. if the engine turns over unusually fast you have a broken timing belt. if you have no spark, see video, you'll need to get an engine scan

Really bad luck. Do you have a obd2 fault scanner? that may help. If this still could not detect the problem, send your car to a local garage. Good luck!!

thats to our government all gasoline has 10% ethanol. ethanol has the ability to mix with and hold water. you probably have an inch or two of water in your tank, thats where the fuel pump intake is located. you need to get your gasoline from a different store chain.

Please further define won't start; engine will not turn over, engine will turn over but very slowlly, engine turns over fine butwill not start? Please let me know.

i JUST RECENTLY LIKE SATURDAY WENT THRU MY CAR STALLING OUT ON ME....IT WENT FROM STARTING BUT NOT TURNING OVER, TURNING OVER BUT WOULD CUT RIGHT OFF TO NOT STARTING AT ALL. SO SUNDAY I CHANGED THE STARTER IT STARTED TO RUN WHILE I WAS OUT BUYING THE NEW STARTED I OPT TO BUY A CRANKS SHAFT SENSOR. SINCE MY CAR STARTED RUNNING WITHOUT THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR BEING INSTALLED I DECIDES TO TAKE IT BACK TO ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR IT WON'T HOLD THE START RAN BACK INSIDE AND REPURCHASED MY SENSOR. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT. YESTERDAY I HAD THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR PUT ON IT NO TURNING OVER. MIND YOU MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. WHILE THE MECHANIC WAS UNDER MY HOOD I STARTED THE CAR AND IT CUT OFF AFTER HE PLAYED WIT THE IDLE A LITTEL AND WIT THE OBI I SCANNED MY OWN CAR AND PO102 CODE CAME UP AND ALL I NEED WAS A MAF (MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR) WENT TO PEP BOYS PUT ON THE MAF AND VIOLA BETSY WAS RUNNING LIKE A CHAMP!!!

The taurus is equipped with what is called a PATS (passive anti theft) that wont let the car start until it recognizes the key in the ignition, some things to check, first when you put the key in and turn the car to run (not start) does the theft light blink fast in the dash or is there a red on light on the dash that starts blinking? if so it is a PATS problem, the only ones I know of that can program keys are dealers, if the car wont turn over it probably is not a fuel pressure issue, the most common thing would be the PATS keys either unprogrammed or somthing wrong with the module. hope this helps

15 amp fuse in fuse box under the dash...by the drivers left leg.

YOU COULD HAVE AIR IN THE FUEL LINES, I CHANGED MY FUEL PUMP AND FILTER ON MY 6.2 85 K 20 SURB. HAD PROBLEM STARTING IT. DO NOT USE STARTING FLUID. USE W-D 40 INSTEAD, IT WILL RUN ON IT AND PURG AIR OUT OF THE LINES. DO NOT CRANK TO LONG AT ONE TIME YOU CAN BURN UP YOUR STARTER. HOPE THIS HELPS?
