I have checked the fuse under the hood and dash on

I have a 1997 Saturn and the battery was shorted after jumper cables were reversed while being hooked up. The only damage was a dead radio and the rear defroster doesn't work ( I don't know if that is relevant or not).I have checked the fuse under the hood and the dash and there is no power to the radio. I have purchased a new radio and it doesn't work either. I don't have a meter but I am guessing there is no power to the radio. Is there a relay or inline fuse I am missing?

My 97 Sonoma starts, doesn't start. It jumps easily. When I turn the key, I get nothing - no dashboard lights, no engine crank.

Do the dash lights come on with the jumper cables? Did someone connect the jumper cables backwards? Sounds like a main fuse blown. Check the plastic fuse box under the hood near the battery on top of the inner fender. All power to the truck begins there. Check for large fuses 30 amp to 60amp. check everything in that box, relays too.

01 elantra won't start no radio no dash lights new battery tap starter it works now that doesn't work jumper cables didn't work

Check in fuse box under hood and dash look for blown fuses and bad starter relays. Also check ground cable from battery this needs to have a good connection. Could be a bad positive cable connection to starter solenoid. Well there's a list of things to check. Hope this helped

Saturn jumper cables hooked up backwards

Try charging the battery more. Even though your lights may come one, starting a vehicle requires massive amounts of amperage from the batter. It's possible that your jumper cables aren't a thick enough guage to supply enough power as well. Sometimes the vehicle you're jumping from might not have enough power to support your vehicle's starting power requirements.

When i hook a new battery up i keep blowing the main fuse in the fuse box under the hood. Are the poles on the battery reversed from the standard batteries?

see the schematic:the + RED cable must be in+ and Black cable in -minus.

God bless you

2000 saturn sl1 - No power to car with key in or out. Put jumper cables on and not even the interior light came on. Fusible link maybe?

First check your positive battery cable. I have seen, especially on the Saturn, where the positive cable gets corroded through the cable and will not allow any power through it. Also check all fuses in the fuse box under the hood, especially the large green 30 amp fuses. If that does not help then check the fusible link between the starter and the alternator. I have seem some of those fail, but usually the car still had power.

I reversed the jumper cables and now the nothing on the dash will work.

you will need to replace any blown out fuses in the fuse block under the hood mainly the main fuse which is bolted in from the bottom
