Have your mechanic check the oil pressere with a scanner or a manual gauge if pressure is different from gauge it needs a sender or the gauge needs replaced

How to check if the thermostat is stuck on 98 chevy monte carlo
you will have to remove the thermostat & place in a saucepan or the like & cover it with cold water, & gradually bring the water up to boiling point to see if the thermostat opens, if it does'nt it is faulty & needs replacing.......hope this helps......cheers.

Have you changed the ignition moduel When the y get warm yhey tend to shut off the engine preventing it from starting until they cool back down
