There are no spark plug wires on the 2000-up Northstar engines. They use coil on plug design. First remove the engine service cover.(The Pretty plastic peice that has the Cadillac symbol on it) Then disconnect the coil connector which sits to the right of the coil and should just snap off by hand. Next If you remove the screws that holds the coil pack (8 screws) to the top of the cam covers, you will see 4 black round rubber boots that sit on top of the plugs. Pull the boots free to expose the plugs. The tops of the spark plugs sit directly underneath

How to change spark plugs

The spark plugs are located under the four spark plug wires that go through the middle of the valve cover on top of the engine. With a twisting motion, remove the plug wires from the spark plugs. Then using a 5/8 inch spark plug socket and inch extension on a 3/8 inch ratchet, remove the spark plugs. Gap the new plugs to the correct gap (located on the label on the underside of the hood), and in stall into the holes in the valve cover using only your hand to get them started, then tightening with the ratchet. Then reinstall the wires back to their original locations, and you are finished.....

Where is the spark plugs located for the 2002 4 cylinder highlander located. Plan on replacement.

First, remove the no. 1 engine cover. Locate the ignition coils, these will be squarish-looking packs with spark plug wires (4 of them) coming out. The wires should be going to the spark plugs, which are on the front and back side of the engine.
Grab the ignition coils or spark plug wires by the thick plastic piece at the end of the wire. Squeeze the end and turn it to release it from the spark plug. Pull back to remove the plug from the engine.
Slide the spark plug socket over the spark plug. The most common size of spark plug socket used on a Toyota Highlander is 16mm. Turn the socket to the left to unscrew and remove the spark plug from the cylinder well.

Location of spark plugs

The spark plugs are located in the front upper half of the motor (4 of them). Each spark plug has a spark plug wire connected to it. The spark plug wires run from the drivers side of the engine to the spark plug so just follow the wires to each of the spark plug locations.

1 if your engine is sitting front to back of the vehicle your plugs will be located on the drivers side and the passengers side of the vehicle.

Change sparks plugs on 06 hyundai sonata v6

You didn't specify whether you have the (4) cylinder or the (6) cylinder engine..... I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L 4 cylinder and I just changed the spark plugs in it. I believe that the 2005 2.4L engine is the same. To locate and change the (4) spark plugs on a 2004 Hyundai 2.4L 4 cylinder engine: Remove the (4) 12mm bolts from the decorative plastic engine cover. Remove plastic cover from engine and place it off to the side out of your way. Standing in front of the car, the (4) spark plugs are located laterally (left to right) in the recessed area underneath where the plastic engine cover was removed. Note: This engine has (2) coils....They are located above spark plugs number (2) and (3) from left to right. Starting with the fist spark plug on the left: Remove the spark plug cable by pulling straight up on the insulated connector. Using a spark plug socket, remove the old spark plug and install a new one in it's place. To access the second spark plug from the left, remove the electrical connector and the spark plug cable wire from coil number (1) and then remove the (2) 12mm bolts that secure the coil to the engine. Spark plug number (2) is located directly under the coil. Lift the coil straight up removing the insulated connector from spark plug number (2). Using a spark plug socket, remove old spark and install a new one in it's place. Repeat same procedures for spark plugs number (3) and (4). Note: If you have the (6) cylinder engine, the front (3) sparks pluge are readilly accessible but in order to access the (3) rear spark plugs, you will have to remove the intake manifold

Location of spark plugs in 2005 dodge dakota

To change the sparks on a 2005 4.7L Dodge Dakota you will need the following:
  • Spark plug socket
  • Ratchet
  • Torque wrench
  • Extension
  • Flat-tip screwdriver
  • Make sure the truck is cold!!!

Note you will have to remove the air intake located at the top of the engine, and will have to move some of the coolant lines out of the way.

At the top of the engine there are 4 sparks on each side. The coils are held in place with a 10mm bolt. Undo the 10mm bolt and unclip the coil. Next pull out the coil.

Insert the socket, with extension into the spark plug hole.

Remove spark plug.

Check the gap on new spark plug, it should match stock.

tighten to approximately 25ft.lbs. (check spark-plug packaging for exact torque requirements).

repeat this process with all other sparks.

be sure that no dirt gets into the spark plug holes.
