You have a bad coil pack, they usually crack from age and heat. It's best to replace them all. Check for a VW recall on this item.

My car has the same problem, my coil packs are in good shape (working properly) i've changed my 4 plugs cuz I had one burned and wet with gas :S my mechanic said that it should get better after the wet gas under the new plug goes away, what do you think it is? I'll wait couple of days anyways...

It could be your spark plugs or your egr valve. the best thing to do is use the OBD2 scanner to tell u whats really wronge with the car, you could rent one at an autozone

The OBD2 plugs in underneath the steering wheel area

Weak power, shaking engine ,engine light blinking, even in neutral

The check engine light can come on for many different reasons. There is only ONE reason for it to flash or "blinking" because excess or un-burned fuel is going into the exhaust and WILL damage the catalitic converter. The weak power and engine shaking is because not all cylinders in the engine are working. Most common causes are tune-up related. If you have a spark plug that does not work ( creates a spark to ignite the fuel which makes the engine run) this unburned fuel will go into the exhaust where the catalitic converter is located. This unburned fuel will cause excessively high temperatures in the converter and Will damage it. The most common reasons for no spark at the plugs- worn or defective spark plugs, spark plug wires or ignition coil. Hope this helps

Ymy battery light came on and everything on dash

shaking?
that means the engine stalled.
when the engine stalls. (do a tune up)
as the engine misfires, grossly , the 4 cyl . engine will shake.
and then it stalls
and many cluster lamps glow, CEL lamp. and charge glow.
you failed to look at engine RPM its wrong.
the normal hot RPM is about 800RPm for most cars.
and the engine EFI brain regulates there.
if the ECU brain can not regulate RPM at 800 that means you have gross misfiring, (lots of causes)
#1 cause, not doing tune ups, (aka, the 60k service points)

2002 nissan altima started shaking and check engine light came on

Blinking means that the problem is so bad that it can damage the engine if you drive it. You need to get a code reader from an autoparts store and read the codes to see what the issue is.

My '99 VW Passat is shaking, like it's going to stall.

That indeed is strange. It could be one of or a combination of things a number of things: a dying fuel pump, bad plugs or plug wires, a dirty fuel filter which needs replaced, carb problems, water in the gas. If you have really high mileage on the car, it could even be a bad clutch getting worse. Other than those admitted "guesses" I have no idea. If this has never happened before, I would give it a new fuel filter, put in a good additive like Sea Foam, make sure it is firing on all cylinders and take it from there. Good luck, bro . . .

99 vw passat, when running, MIL lite, on car vibrates- shakes

no flashing light and rough shaking will be part of spark plug but also a very bad miss fire. I am going to guess that your engine is a 1.8t if so you have 4 coils that sit on top of your spark plugs that most likely are arcing you will need to figure out which coil is failing or you can save yourself the trouble and replace all 4 and the spark plugs. before you do that though check your wireing going to your coils look for broken wires or the ground that is next to the #1 coil that is the one closest to the front of the motor and you. hope that helps. that will be the start to fixing your issue also when you pull out the spark plug look down the hole first and make sure that there is not oil in the bottom of the hole if that is the case you will need a valve cover gasket as well. good luck hope that helps

1999 VW Passat low idle

replace your fuel filter first. If that does not do it, then try an air-flow meter. (if the check engine light is on it may be an airflow meter.

Engine is shaking, reduced power to engine, service engine light on, all of a sudden, car was driving fine

Could be anything you need to give more info. Have the cars computer scanned for codes, It may help identify the problem or help lead you in the right direction.

I need help badly.

Good Day,

The shaking can be caused by a bad motor mount, but could also be caused from the engine when it is idle'ing low and about to stall. The motor mount would also shake the car under braking, so if is doesn't shake whiIe your braking it's probably not motor mount, Is your check engine light? The idle air is another possibilty among other things. I can assist further but I need to know which engine you have the 4 cyl 2.0L or 6.0 cyl 2.5L?

Let me know about the check engine light aswell.

Hope this helps
