You may have a ABS problem. I would drive it and attemp to skid the tires an dsee if the pump activates. sometimes this will unstick any valves inside the ABS unit. you may need to have a qualified repair shop check deeper. the ABS will have a code, and a scanner will be needed to check further.

Grinding noise in front brakes of a 1993 olds cutlass supreme

Assuming this vehicles brake linings are ok and not worn out, it sounds like you have an abs rotor fault. The abs is working while your are braking because it cant read the road speed correctly. So you are feeling the abs motor working.

1989 olds cutlass supreme. None of the brake lights work. All other lights work. Fuses are good.

You probably have a bad brake light switch. This switch is located on the brake pedal arm or a bracket next to the arm. This switch activates the brake lights when the pedal is pushed. You can check this by turning on your turn signals or warning flasher if your light flash in the rear. Your bulbs are good so this will bring you back to the brake light switch.

Have a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme, brake lights will not work. We've replaced bulbs, fuses and brake light switch and still nothing. Help!

Try having someone push on brake pedal at the same time thay move the turn signal lever up and down slightly to see if your brake lights work this would tell me that you have a faulty turn signal switch because GM runs the brake lights thru the turn signal switch so they work if you are driving with your 4way flashers on.

Brake lights

There is a micro switch at the top of the brake pedal that activates the brake lights when you depress the pedal. This switch likely has to be replaced. Any mechanic can do this in about 15 mins.
