Could anyone give me advice on my mercedes c220d problem.. ever now and then when started i reverse out onto the road, put it in drive and then it wont change gear, turn the engine off then back on and its fine. ?? any advice would be great.. thanks..

drive the blazer in reverse for 200 or 300 hundred meters, then try to disengage, this will work, also, take the blazer off the road, onto loose stones, sometimes the axles bind, this will allow the wheels to free spin, . then put in reverse, drive it back & forth a few times, on a dirt or gravel road, . and it will disengage .

dont bother too much with thebullshit recipe .mercedesbenz were built in a cold country and have the cold start tecnique off pat .you need to establish if all the glow plugs are working .,if the engine misses and runs rough when it does start then the glow plugs are not all working but you need to test them with a test light and i would be inclined to think you will need to replace them. do them all as the ones that do work will stop soon.they all seem to go around the same time------------"youdoit "
you need to give your car a warm start.that is on it and allow for a while before driving .that way you will get to discover if there is a problem early before hitting the road.
