How do you move the bench seat forward? It seems

check for the release wire fully releasing the lock on that side. when you pull on the release lever it is to pull both release locks so the seat will move.

you will have to take the mechanism apart and reseat the spring or replace the broken part.

first check to see if anything is blocking the tracks if so remove. next it could be the switch if passenger side has controls try swapping them if passenger side does not have controls take switch off and check the resistance in the switch when in the on position (forward or back) if it is not the switch motor is probably burned out if passenger side again has motor try swapping. (passengers don't need to be comfortable) or just buy a new motor. hope this helps

there will be bars underneath the seat that are supposed to go across to unlock both sides so that the seat can move forward and back, try having someone pull the lever and see if you can see from behind the bar that moves and figure out what it corresponds to on the opposite side. you should be able to move it by hand, release the lock and set the seat where you want it, as for a permanent fix, most seats are not difficult to remove, typically four bolts, although some take specialty tools like large torx bits, and i would imagine the bar is replaceable

normally the seat tracks are bolted to the floor or riser. It is possible that when the seat was moved forward the track moved over the head of a mounting bolt and will not return. check for interference between track and rail while trying to return seat.

Before you do any of the expensive things disconnect and reconnect the wiring to the seat I had the same exact problem with my 2009 Chevy Impala and was ready to take it to the dealer when I disconnected the power cables to it and reconnected them I found that one of the Harnesses was loose and the problem was solved

You will need to pull the seat cover off both sides and look, this is not a part you can buy.

I have a 95 960 wagon and my seats have circuit boards

I just bought a 93 GMC Safari Van and couldn't figure this out either. Luckily, I did have the manual. It appears that the  lever under the front of the sofa moves in forwards and backwards. There is a lever on the corner of each side. Lift up on each and pull cushion forward. Also, you can push on the back of the sofa to help it go down. Hope this helps!
